Area: Apartment

A D’ni apartment building (seen on the left in the above picture) is a large building on one side from the Museum of Art. It stands parallel to the cavern wall and overlooks the D’ni lake. Like the nearby office building, the apartment sustained a great deal of damage during the Fall and a number of main supports are in need of repair.

D’ni Era

When the museum of art was built, the D’ni constructed a pair of buildings to house the museum’s staff. However, due somewhat to over-compensation and somewhat to advances in automation, one of the buildings was no longer needed, and was converted into lower class housing. According to records, part of the apartment was vacated at some point close to the time of the Fall. Residents reported hearing “the devil’s laughter” and screams the night before five families vanished from their rooms.

Modern Era

Similar to many of the other buildings surrounding the museum, looting and vandalism is low. Large sections of the building have collapsed rendering most of it inaccessible. While it is likely a byproduct of the stories around the building, some of our restorers have reported seeing lights in the upper stories of the building. Currently, the survey teams have delayed work on the building as the damage requires the time of the restoration team that would be better spent elsewhere.
