Area: Museum of Art

The D’ni Museum of Art (often referred to simply as the Museum) is a large, multi-story structure located on one end of Subterranean Restorations’ work area. The Museum, like all of the structures in the area, sustained a large amount of damage as a result of the powerful earthquakes during and after the Fall of D’ni.

D’ni Era

In D’ni times, the building was likely a bustling cultural center for the area of the cavern in which it is located. From translated records, many of the buildings around the Museum were built as a result of its popularity. A small market was built to profit off of fellow D’ni tourists, residences were built for those who wanted to have easy access to the museum, and an office building was constructed to house the museum’s administrative staff.

Modern Era

The Museum has had a difficult life in modern times. For reasons not yet clear, the building has been the site of numerous lootings and vandalism. These violent acts have destroyed, damaged, or otherwise lost many of the pieces of art from the D’ni empire. Currently, the survey team at Subterranean Restorations has finished its cataloging and mapping efforts for the building and the restoration team is hard at work making the structure more stable for our crews.
